What Comox homeowners say
“Potentially could have spent a bit more time on cleanup. I have picked up 100-200 pieces of jagged aluminum pieces from yard and driveway and still go around the yard carefully looking for more in order to avoid tire damage on vehicles or foot damage in bare feet. Really happy with the look of the roof. It looks beautiful.”
“I was very impressed with the presentation. My roof will eventually need to have it done, but I have a couple more years out of it and I can't afford it. I just jumped the gun wanting it, more than I could afford it. He made the financing very affordable, but I still didn't have the income. I couldn't justify spending that kind of money right this year. He was very flexible and knowledgeable and I was impressed with the presentation and the product and I love the fact that it's local.”
Roofing in Comox: what to plan for
Rain from the west coast to the east
The Island ranges from very wet on the west side, around Port Alberni and Sproat Lake, to drier around Victoria, but most roofs here spend the winter damp under firs and cedars. Aluminum absorbs nothing and cannot rot. Needles still collect in valleys and gutters, and we'll tell you what to clear and how often.
Oceanfront without the rust
From Oak Bay and Sooke to Nanoose Bay and Comox, a lot of Island homes sit close to the water. Aluminum does not rust, so salt air doesn't do to it what it does to steel.
Comox Valley and upland snow
Some winters bring heavy, wet snow to the Comox Valley and the higher ground. A metal roof sheds it, so snow guards over entries, decks and driveways go in at the estimate, and the light panels leave the framing's capacity for the snow itself.
Homes in the trees
Plenty of Island homes back onto forest. Class A is available on our roofs as a complete assembly (two layers of GAF VersaShield® over 12 mm (15/32-inch) plywood, per ASTM E108), and aluminum does not ignite.
